Oriole Park is a thinly populated neighborhood in the Norwood Park community area of Chicago, Illinois. The community takes its name from the surrounding subdivisionin the Norwood Park community. It is bordered by the I-90 to the north, Foster Ave to the south, Harlem Ave to the east, and Canfield Ave to the west. Surprisingly, Oriole Park is an not an industrial community but a very green and residential area bordered by the forest preserves at the Des Plains River.
The area is home to Oriole Park, a park that is part of the Chicago Park District, which is bound by Bryn Mawr Ave to the north, Oleander Ave to the south, Oriole Ave to the west, and Olcott Ave to the east. The park covers over 18 acres of land. The park is quite spacious and offers programs both outdoor and indoor activities for both young children and adults alike. Some include crafting, t-ball, gymnastics, volleyball, dance, music, and field sports.
Oriole Park Public Library Branch is located on Balmoral Ave. next to Oriole Park School. It operates under the Chicago Public Library.
Oriole Park Elementary School is located on Oketo and Balmoral Avenues and is the only school in the area.
